        The Smart Choice For Canton
Benefits to the town
Fiscal Benefits
  • Annual gross revenues of approximately $1,528,000 and a net fiscal benefit of approximately $615,000 per year.
  • Approximately $850,000 in building permit and associated fees payable during the construction period.
  • Approximately $166,000,000 will be added to Canton's total assessed valuation to represent a major source of new growth tax benefits during the initial year of occupancy
  • Approximately $8,900,000 to local retail expenditures to assist in supporting local businesses, particularly Canton Center businesses.

Visual Benefits
The manufacturing buildings and equipment will be removed and a signature development will be built on the site.  The architectural firm of Prellwitz/Chilinski Associates (PCA) www.prellwitzchilinski.com has been hired to design Paul Revere Commons.

Community Benefits
Paul Revere Commons will include over two acres of new public space including miles of walking trails which will also connect to Canton Junction, access to the river and public meeting space for Farmers Markets and concerts.  We are also proposing to adapt and re-use the historic Revere Barn and Rolling Mill.

Environmental Benefits:
The prior owners of the site permitted several adverse environmental conditions to occur and remain at the site.  As part of the redevelopment plans, we are committed to bringing the site into compliance with the Department of Environmental Protection standards.
